Ramat Gan, Israel, and Nottingham, UK, August 19, 2006 – APM Automation
Solutions Ltd. (APM) and Nottingham-based Golconda announced that they have
signed an agreement under which Golconda will sell APM’s 3D level measurement
solutions throughout the UK. The APM 3DLevelScanner™ provides an innovative
measurement method that takes the guesswork out of measuring the level, volume and
mass of materials inside a silo or open bin by generating 3D maps of the contents.
APM products provide an unrivaled degree of process level measurement and
inventory control for a wide range of applications across practically all industries
including aggregates and mining, chemicals, food and beverages, pulp and paper,
energy, recycling, waste water, and more.

Golconda specializes in process instrumentation, control systems, materials handling
and other equipment related to industry and manufacturing. “APM’s unique 3D level
measurement technology complements Golconda’s mix of products. Our decision to
promote APM’s innovative measurement instrumentation significantly enhances our
ability to meet our customers’ needs for intelligent high-end non-contact measurement
systems that they require for development and manufacturing operations,” said
Golconda Managing Director, Alex Dempster.

"It was APM’s advanced technology and Golconda's technical expertise and
experience that brought us together,” commented Ofir Perl, APM CEO. “Golconda
has been in the market since 1975 and counts among its satisfied customers a host of
blue-ribbon companies, including Lafarge Cement, Hanson, Cemex, Alphagary, Rank
Hovis, Rockwood Electronic Materials, Mitsui Babcock, Fluor Daniel, Powergen and
Bisto Foods. I believe Golconda's experience, technological knowledge, and market
savvy are perfectly suited to assure the success of the APM 3DLevelScanner in the
UK," he said.

The APM 3DLevelScanner provides an unrivaled degree of process level
measurement and inventory control. Truly accurate material measurement can
dramatically improve operational efficiency and management capabilities. “As
efficiency is enhanced and waste is reduced, production is streamlined, deliveries can
be optimized, and costly emergency fills eliminated. All this is translated into major
cost savings and a fast return on investment,” concluded Perl.

  The APM 3DLevelScanner –
how it works

The 3DLevelScanner employs a 2-dimensional array beam-former to transmit low frequency pulses and to receive echoes of the pulses from the contents of the silo, bin or other container. The device's Digital Signal Processor samples and analyzes the received signals. From the estimated times of arrival and directions of received echoes, using APM's unique patented technology the processor generates a 3-dimensional image of the surface that can be displayed on a remote screen. This unique device can then accurately determine the volume and mass of material.
